I have been a serious gardener for over 30 years and have
been specialising in growing and, prior to establishing the nursery, exhibiting
Pelargoniums for the last 14 years.
In 2005 I left my full time employment in the Civil Service to concentrate
on establishing a small private pelargonium nursery. I began trading in
2006 as the 'Gosbrook
Pelargonium Nursery' from where I sell young plants by Mail Order, collection,
Talks that I undertake or Plant Fairs. In 2007 we moved to larger premises
in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire from where we now operate.
All pictures on the site are taken by myself and I get many e-mails asking
what equipment I use.
Since May 2007 I have used a Canon EOS 5D digital SLR camera. This is a
high quality camera that is used to produce both screen images and print
images for my business plant catalogue etc. Each picture is taken in digital
RAW format to obtain the maximum possible quality; they are then taken into
Photoshop for colour correcting, this being done with the blooms in hand
to get the best possible colour matches. Prior to my EOS 5D I had an EOS
10D, then prior to this I used an EOS 30 film camera and scanned slides
into Photoshop using a film scanner.
Nearly all of the plants and blooms photographed for this site I have grown
myself.
I have, however, included some shots of blooms or exceptional plants that
have been grown by other leading pelargonium growers, where this is the
case the growers name is noted.
On the technical side I began developing the first version of this web site
in 1999. Over the years the site has matured and I think it now gives a
good representation of our beloved Pelargoniums.
If you would like me to come along to your society to give you a talk on
pelargoniums, with Laptop, Projector and plants for sale in hand, please
visit my website at www.geraniumtalks.com
